Community Plan Updates

LCVA initiated the process of updating the La Cienega/La Cienega Community Plan tied to Santa Fe County's Sustainable Land Development Code in 2023.  For more info on how to be involved in that process visit our website's Community Planning Page and for information from the County website on community planning please click here.

Wild Fire

Fire Fuels Reduction Program

LCVA is currently in the process of awaiting updates from Santa Fe County Fire Department mapping to designate the bosque areas within La Cienega and La Cieneguilla as a high fire risk areas of Santa Fe County so that we can apply for funds for fire and fuels mitigation.

La Cienega/La Cieneguilla Springs Restoration Study

LCVA worked with Santa Fe County to apply for a $150,000 appropriation for water planning to help restore the La Cienega/La Cieneguilla area springs.  The RFP has been developed and should be released within the next 6-8 months for bids.

PFAS Characterization Study

The County has contracted with INTERA to conduct a PFAS study in the la Cienega/La Cieneguilla area to try to characterize the sources of PFAS which have been found in local domestic wells/groundwater and to provide recommendations on how to mitigate PFAS.
